Student Skill Enhancements

Opportunities to enhance your MFR skills by working with an advanced MFR therapist

MFR UK workshops focus on teaching how to feel fascia then apply approaches in order to restore balance and function.

There is no such thing as a specific technique for a condition. This would be symptomatic treatment and a myopic view of the human body and fascial system.

Level 1 teaches the student how to feel fascia and how to use patent feedback, visual, movement and palpatory approaches in order to assess and treat the system. The following levels build on this and integrate further approaches and techniques all adding experience and skill to treatments.

The human body is generally the same as the next human body, therefor symptoms will be similar from person to person. However, it is what has caused the symptoms that intrigue and catch the attention of the MFR therapist. It is the personality that makes the difference from person to person. The personality lives within each and every cell of the human body all held within the fascial matrix. The personality stores memories, thoughts, feelings, actions and reactions and it is this information from old injuries, both physical and emotional, that manifest themselves as symptoms. Treating the symptom will not help the patient to regain their health. MFR therapists are taught to find the symptom and look elsewhere for the cause.

This is why MFR therapists cannot have a specific technique in the treatment of fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome or chronic myofascial pain syndrome. Patients with these conditions, or syndromes, have been given these labels as they meet a criteria of set symptoms over certain timescales. However, what has caused these symptoms will be different from person to person.

Each patient has a unique history, personality and reason that their body is unable to cope, therefor manifesting symptoms. The MFR therapist is taught to look, feel, listen and sense what is going on within their patients unique fascial matrix and from there use MFR approaches and techniques to restore balance, function and health.

MFR UK offers skill enhancement sessions on order for the student to experience and learn where and when to use fascial approaches and techniques. MFR is an art form, it is not about protocols or recipe treatments but instead a journey of discovery using intuition, awareness and touch in order to effectively treat the patient.

Students are invited to join MFR UK senior therapists for a half day, full day or days to work together to treat patients or other students.
